Honor / Memorial Gifts

Tribute gifts are a meaningful way to honor or remember an individual. For gifts of $25 or more you can choose to recognize someone with a commemorative bookplate with the message of your choice to be placed in Columbus Metropolitan Library’s collection.

Planned Giving

MAKE A LEGACY GIFT TO THE LIBRARY TODAY

Through planned giving, you have the ability to receive valuable tax benefits and even a lifetime of income. You can give to the library in many different ways.

We encourage these types of Legacy Gifts:

  • Cash
  • Marketable Securities
  • Tangible Personal Property
  • Real Property
  • Bequests through Wills or Trusts
  • Charitable Gift Annuities
  • Charitable Remainder Trusts
  • Charitable Lead Trusts
  • Retirement Plan Assets
  • Life Insurance
  • Pooled Income Funds

The Easiest of Legacy Gifts is a Bequest by Will or Trust

All it takes is a simple designation in a will or trust, such as this sample language in your estate planning documents:
“I give and bequeath to Columbus Metropolitan Library Foundation, Columbus, Ohio, an unrestricted gift in the sum of $(Amount) or % (Percent) of my estate, real or personal, which I own at the time of my death or over which I have power of disposition. The Columbus Metropolitan Library Foundation shall administer said assets for the sole benefit of Columbus Metropolitan Library.

Give to an Established Fund

First, you can give any amount. Every gift to the library, regardless of size, powerfully impacts our community. Gifts can be directed toward one of following funds:

Innovation Fund/Area of Greatest Need
This gift supports the library, year after year, providing us with a steady stream of revenue that ensures the health and vitality of the library for years to come.

Young Minds
This gift helps the library address critical education issues like kindergarten readiness and high school graduation.

Life Skills
This gift helps the library encourage our community to reach its potential by offering college and career readiness, adult learning and job search help for adults.

My Library
This gift helps create the next generation library by expanding our digital collections and personalizing services to address individual needs.

Create a Named Fund

Any gift of $50,000+ allows you an opportunity to establish a named fund in your name or in the name of a loved one.

We are happy to discuss your legacy of giving. If you would like more information regarding the giving options, please contact the Development Office at 614-849-1051.

Corporate Giving

Corporations and organizations can make a big impact. Whether it’s combining the gifts of employees or giving directly from your business, you have many options to give.

Sponsorships/Programs Underwriting

Columbus Metropolitan Library’s success is due – in part – to the generous contributions of key business and organizations that support our efforts. Sponsorship dollars help to underwrite our programs and services.

We simply couldn’t do our work without you. In exchange, a partnership with Columbus Metropolitan Library Foundation provides the unique opportunity to connect with library customers – leveraging your brand with ours.

If your company is eligible, request a matching gift form from your employer, and send it completed and signed with your gift. We will do the rest. The impact of your gift may be doubled or possibly tripled!
