COLUMBUS—Columbus Metropolitan Library (CML) will make its public meeting rooms available for customers to once again reserve beginning Wednesday, June 30. That day, customers can reserve meeting rooms at CML locations online or in person. Customers are encouraged to contact CML with questions.

CML closed public meeting rooms at all 23 of its locations last March due to the outbreak of the pandemic and public health guidelines about social distancing – before ultimately closing its locations entirely for several months.

Currently, 22 of CML’s 23 locations are open for Limited Services, enabling customers to:

  • Browse the shelves and pick out their items
  • Pick up items on hold
  • Get Grab & Go Books
  • Return items
  • Use a computer (60-minute limit)
  • Print, copy, scan and fax
  • Book a Study Room
  • Get in-person Job Help at limited locations

CML’s Karl Road Branch is currently closed for construction. The new Karl Road Branch is scheduled to open later this year.

Face coverings are no longer required for entry into CML locations, however unvaccinated individuals are asked to please continue to wear them. CML asks that customers who are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19, or who recently tested positive for COVID-19, not enter any CML buildings. Curbside pickup remains available as well.

The safety of customers and staff is a priority for the library. Follow CML on social media (FacebookTwitter) and check columbuslibrary.org for updates.

Columbus Metropolitan Library has served the people of Franklin County, Ohio since 1873. With its Main Library and 22 branches, CML is well known for signature services and programs like School Help, Reading Buddies, Summer Reading Challenge and Ready for Kindergarten. The library’s Strategic Plan supports the vision of “a thriving community where wisdom prevails,” which positions CML to respond to areas of urgent need: kids unprepared for kindergarten, third grade reading proficiency, high school graduation, college and career readiness and employment resources.
