Library to hold Hair Resource Fair on March 23

COLUMBUS—Columbus Metropolitan Library (CML) will host a Hair Resource Fair this weekend in partnership with Barbershop Books.

Saturday, March 23 | 12-3 p.m.
Driving Park Branch | 1422 E. Livingston Ave.

CML celebrates central Ohio’s diverse cultures to foster understanding and connection. Hair, symbolizing identity, is at the heart of this event and celebration. Highlights of this program include:

  • Limited free haircuts and styles for kids
  • A meet-and-greet with local author Damon Mosley
  • A hair-themed Storytime
  • Free resources
  • Limited food and refreshments
  • A historical look back at Black-owned hair supply companies in Columbus
  • Raffles for gift cards and swag bags

Columbus Metropolitan Library has served the people of Franklin County, Ohio since 1873. With its Main Library and 22 branches, CML is well known for signature services and programs like School Help, Reading Buddies, Summer Reading Challenge and Ready for Kindergarten. The library’s Strategic Plan supports the vision of “a thriving community where wisdom prevails,” which positions CML to respond to areas of urgent need: kids unprepared for kindergarten, third grade reading proficiency, high school graduation, college and career readiness and employment resources.
