COLUMBUS—Columbus Metropolitan Library (CML) has hired Eternity Ballour as manager of its Barnett Branch. She officially began her new role on Sunday, March 17.

A Columbus native, Ballour joined CML in 2021, serving in customer and youth services roles at the Martin Luther King and South High branches. Since May 2023, she has served as Youth Services Manager at the Barnett Branch.

“Eternity is a passionate advocate for the young minds in our community,” says CML Chief Customer Experience Officer Charlie Hansen. “She is also a familiar face at Barnett, and we know she is eager to continue serving its families in this new role.”

The previous manager of the Barnett Branch, Malik Moore, left CML last fall. Canal Winchester Branch Manager Keith Hanson, serving as interim manager of the Barnett Branch since that time, now returns to the Canal Winchester Branch full time.

Columbus Metropolitan Library has served the people of Franklin County, Ohio since 1873. With its Main Library and 22 branches, CML is well known for signature services and programs like School Help, Reading Buddies, Summer Reading Challenge and Ready for Kindergarten. The library’s Strategic Plan supports the vision of “a thriving community where wisdom prevails,” which positions CML to respond to areas of urgent need: kids unprepared for kindergarten, third grade reading proficiency, high school graduation, college and career readiness and employment resources.
