Library hires managers for Barnett, Driving Park, New Albany, Northern Lights, Reynoldsburg, South High and Whitehall branches

COLUMBUS—Columbus Metropolitan Library (CML) has made seven hires:

Ryan Burley has been hired to serve as manager of CML’s New Albany Branch. He began his CML career in 2006, serving as Youth Services Librarian at the Hilliard Branch and later as Youth Services Manager at the New Albany Branch. He most recently served as interim manager at the South High and Franklinton branches. Burley began his new role on Nov. 29, 2021. Benjamin Reid, who previously served as manager of the New Albany Branch, took on a new role as Public Services Director in 2021.

Jennifer Hess has been hired to serve as manager of CML’s Reynoldsburg Branch. She has been with CML for more than 25 years, most recently serving as manager of the Whetstone Branch and, before that, as manager of the Shepard Branch. She began her new role on Jan. 24. Dave Dennison, who previously served as manager of the Reynoldsburg Branch, took on a new role in 2021 as a librarian in the Adult Services division at Main Library. CML is recruiting for a new Whetstone Branch manager.

Lauren Lancaster has been hired to serve as manager of CML’s Whitehall Branch. She began her CML career in 2016, serving as Ready to Read Corps Supervisor, before becoming Youth Services Manager at the South High Branch and later at the Hilliard Branch. She began her new role on Jan. 24. Kacy Cox, who previously served as manager of the Whitehall Branch, left CML in 2021.

Malik Moore has been hired to serve as manager of CML’s Barnett Branch. He began his CML career on Nov. 29, 2021, having previously served as School Leader/Principal at KIPP Columbus High School and, before that, as Head of School at Columbus Preparatory Academy. Tiffani Carter, who previously served as manager of the Barnett Branch, left CML in 2021.

Summer Sherman has been hired to serve as manager of CML’s Northern Lights Branch. She began her CML career in 2002, serving in various roles at the Franklinton and Reynoldsburg branches, before becoming manager of the South High Branch in 2013. Sherman began her new role on Nov. 29, 2021. Andrea Villanueva, who previously served as manager of the Northern Lights Branch, took on a new role as Public Services Director in 2021.

Mickie Stiers has been hired to serve as manager of CML’s South High Branch. She began her CML career in 2016, serving as a Youth Services Librarian at the Northern Lights Branch, before becoming Youth Services Manager at the Karl Road Branch. She began her new role on Jan. 24. Summer Sherman, who previously served as manager of the South High Branch, was hired as manager of the Northern Lights Branch in 2021.

Brandon Thomas has been hired to serve as manager of CML’s Driving Park Branch. He began his CML career in 2013, serving in various roles at the Hilliard, Linden, Karl Road, Barnett and Northside branches. He most recently served as Materials Services Supervisor at the Karl Road Branch. Thomas began his new role on Nov. 29, 2021. Cheryl Evans, who previously served as manager of the Driving Park Branch, left CML in 2021.
