COLUMBUS—Columbus Metropolitan Library (CML) will celebrate National Library Week from April 7-13 with a Checkout Challenge encouraging CML customers to visit a library location and check out a combined 135,000 items over the course of the week.

That week, each person who checks out one item or more will be automatically entered to win a $100 Kroger gift card (one winner from each of CML’s 23 locations).

One entry per person. CML employees and their immediate family members are not eligible. The Checkout Challenge is supported by the Columbus Metropolitan Library Foundation.

Columbus Metropolitan Library has served the people of Franklin County, Ohio since 1873. With its Main Library and 22 branches, CML is well known for signature services and programs like School Help, Reading Buddies, Summer Reading Challenge and Ready for Kindergarten. The library’s Strategic Plan supports the vision of “a thriving community where wisdom prevails,” which positions CML to respond to areas of urgent need: kids unprepared for kindergarten, third grade reading proficiency, high school graduation, college and career readiness and employment resources.
