COLUMBUS—Columbus Metropolitan Library (CML) has made two new hires:

Dr. Anthony Wilson has been promoted to serve in the newly created Chief of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (CDO) position. In this role, he will champion CML’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) efforts and oversee its Human Resources and Security teams. Additionally, he will facilitate the work of CML’s Racial Equity Steering Committee, Diversity & Inclusion Committee and Employee Resource Groups.

Wilson joined CML in 2018 as Director of Safety & Security after having served more than 25 years in central Ohio law enforcement, most recently as assistant chief of police for the City of Westerville. He holds a Ph.D. in Organizational Leadership with a focus on Organizational Behavior and Ethical Diversity from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology. In his years in law enforcement, he was a certified diversity instructor, taught DEI to local police departments for 10 years and created diversity recruitment initiatives for the Columbus, Hilliard and Westerville police departments. He begins his new role today, Monday, Jan. 3.

Timothy Brant has been promoted to fill the Director of Safety & Security position left by Wilson. In this new role, Brant will be responsible for leading security operations and implementing safety and security measures across CML’s 23-location system. These efforts include loss prevention, establishing safety programs and emergency procedures, assessment and analysis of potential risks, policy and procedure development and vendor management. Prior to joining CML as Security Manager in 2019, he served as the owner and Chief Operating Officer of Pillars Protection Services in Columbus. He begins his new role today, Monday, Jan. 3.
