COLUMBUS—Columbus Metropolitan Library (CML) has partnered with Opera Columbus ahead of its performances of Fellow Travelers this weekend at the Southern Theatre. Operagoers who present their library cards at the box office will receive a 25% discount on tickets. This discount applies for all library cardholders, not just for those with CML library cards.

Additionally, Thomas Mallon, the acclaimed author of Fellow Travelers, and Gregory Spears, the composer who adapted it for opera, will be at Main Library (96 S. Grant Ave.) on Saturday, Feb. 26 at 10 a.m. for a free author talk.

Opera Columbus presents two performances of Fellow Travelers this weekend: on Friday, Feb. 25 at 7:30 p.m. and on Sunday, Feb. 27 at 2 p.m.

The book and opera are set in the 1950s during heightened anti-communist and anti-gay rhetoric and follows a young man torn between his political convictions and his relationship with a man.
