No library services will be available

COLUMBUS—Columbus Metropolitan Library (CML) will open a portion of its Main Library (96 S. Grant Ave.) from 12-9 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 19 for those seeking refuge from the cold.

No library services will be available, however seating, WiFi and restrooms will be available. Those seeking refuge from the cold will need to enter the library via the sliding glass doors facing Grant Avenue and accessible off Library Park North. The building’s other two entryways – its main entrance facing Grant Avenue and its Kaufman Plaza entrance facing Topiary Park – will be inaccessible.

All CML locations will be closed Sunday, Jan. 18 and Monday, Jan. 19 in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.

Columbus Metropolitan Library has served the people of Franklin County, Ohio since 1873. With its Main Library and 22 branches, CML is well known for signature services and programs like School Help, Reading Buddies, Summer Reading Challenge and Ready for Kindergarten. The library’s Strategic Plan supports the vision of “a thriving community where wisdom prevails,” which positions CML to respond to areas of urgent need: kids unprepared for kindergarten, third grade reading proficiency, high school graduation, college and career readiness and employment resources.
