COLUMBUS—Columbus Metropolitan Library (CML) is expanding its limited services to five more branches next week. Starting Monday, June 22, limited services will be available at:
- Parsons Branch | 1113 Parsons Ave.
- Whitehall Branch | 4445 E. Broad St.
And starting Wednesday, June 24, limited services will be available at:
- Barnett Branch | 3434 E. Livingston Ave.
- Driving Park Branch | 1422 E. Livingston Ave.
- Marion-Franklin Branch* | 2740 Lockbourne Rd.
Hours: Monday-Thursday, 11 a.m.-7 p.m.; Friday & Saturday, 11 a.m.-6 p.m., with no service on Sunday.
*Hours for the Marion-Franklin Branch are Monday-Saturday, 11 a.m.-3 p.m., with no service on Sunday.
At limited services locations, customers can:
- Pick Up Items
- Return Items
- Reserve a Computer
- Print | Copy | Scan | Fax
- Get Job Help (Karl Road Branch only)
This will bring the total number of branches offering limited services to 11, as CML currently offers limited services at its Main Library and Franklinton, Karl Road, Linden, Martin Luther King and Northern Lights branches.
A limited number of computers are available for 50-minute use. No browsing will be available at this time. However, if customers have items ready for pickup, they will be checked out for them in-branch. Click here for more information about CML’s limited services.
Starting Monday, June 29*, Book Return slots will be open 24/7 at nearly all CML locations, except those at the Hilltop and South High branches, as both buildings are undergoing renovation. *A previous version of this press release incorrectly stated that Book Returns would open 24/7 starting Monday, June 22.
While not required, CML asks that customers utilizing curbside pickup and limited services at its library locations please wear face masks.
CML will continue to follow guidelines provided by local, county and state health officials and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
Digital library resources remain available 24/7 at columbuslibrary.org, including eBooks, eAudiobooks, magazines, movies and music, plus research and learning tools.
During this time of closure, CML has many channels for customers to connect with staff, including:
- Live Chat: CML’s live chat feature is a convenient way to get help Monday through Friday from 9 a.m.-4 p.m.
- Phone Lines: CML has reopened its phone lines at 614-645-2275 so customers can reach staff members to get the help they need Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m.-6 p.m.
- Reserve an Expert: Customers can schedule a one-on-one, virtual appointment with a librarian to get help with genealogy, local history, business information, searching for a job or downloading digital content. Customers can also book an online, one-on-one appointment with the Legal Advice Clinic for brief legal questions.
The safety of customers and staff is a priority for the library. Follow CML on social media (Facebook, Twitter) and check columbuslibrary.org for updates. Additional changes in operation will be shared as this rapidly evolving public health situation continues to unfold.
