Campaign coincides with Library Card Sign-up Month in September

COLUMBUS—Columbus Metropolitan Library (CML) will mark Library Card Sign-up Month in September with a new marketing campaign: Best. Deal. Ever. Library promotions will emphasize the money that central Ohioans are saving, or could be saving, by using their library cards. Additionally, throughout the month, any new customer who registers for a library card will automatically be entered for a chance to win one of 10 Amazon.com Gift Cards, each valued at $50.

CML has launched a new web page, columbuslibrary.org/best-deal-ever, to promote the campaign, and has produced the following 30-second videos to highlight the value of a library card:

CML gives all media outlets permission to share the videos on-air, on websites and in social media channels.

“Columbus Metropolitan Library has been providing tremendous value to central Ohioans for 149 years,” said CML CEO Patrick Losinski. “As our community continues to reel from the dual impacts of a global health crisis and inflation, we want to bring a renewed focus on the cost-saving potential of your library card.”

Columbus Metropolitan Library has served the people of Franklin County, Ohio since 1873. With its Main Library and 22 branches, CML is well known for signature services and programs like School Help, Reading Buddies, Summer Reading Challenge and Ready for Kindergarten. The library’s Strategic Plan supports the vision of “a thriving community where wisdom prevails,” which positions CML to respond to areas of urgent need: kids unprepared for kindergarten, third grade reading proficiency, high school graduation, college and career readiness and employment resources.
