James Bond is back in print.  The Ian Fleming estate authorized Boyd to write this new entry and he did a pretty good job.  I really enjoy the movies but am happy to have a Bond adventure in print to read.  If you are a Bond fan and need a fix, give this book a try.

Ever since Stieg Larsson's Girl With a Dragon Tattoo hit the bestseller list, Scandanavian mysteries have become a hot commodity.  This series has escaped a lot of notice but I stumbled across it and really enjoyed it.  A police procedural set in Sweden, Tursten has been compared to P. D. James in her native country.  This is the first book and I plan on reading my way through the other titles as I find them.

There's been a lot of buzz around the Hunger Games series and the Divergent series because they are good reads and being made into movies. But there is another series out there as good or better that hasn't had the same amount of attention. The Legend series (Legend, Prodigy and Champion) is narrated by June and Day interchangeably.  June Iparis was born into an elite Republic family while Day is a wanted criminal hiding in the slums.  What makes this series so good?  Great characters, fast moving but engaging plot and each book really move the story along while exploring political possibilities in the distant future.  Give it a read - you may like better than series with more buzz.
