Danielle is a social misfit with orange frizzy hair, a plus size body and obsessed with the film, The Big Lebowski.  I really enjoyed this book as Danielle is a great character with a very realistic voice.  Reading about her attempts to maneuver school, parents and friends rang true and I was sad to see the book end.

Poetry is something I dip into now and then. I am always excited though to see a new Billy Collins. While not to everyone's taste, I really appreciate his approachable style.  If you have never tried poetry, this is a great author to start with. I think you will find something you like!

I don't know about you but every once in awhile I need some creative inspiration.  I picked up Kidd's new book and learned quite a bit about graphic design. Written for kids, this is a great book that is visually appealing and really explains how graphic artists ply their trade.

Need a heartwarming read this time of year - then try this. Harold gets a letter from a woman he worked with over 20 years ago.  Queenie is dying of cancer and just wanted to say goodbye to him. Harold writes a letter back and gets up to mail it but as he passes the first mail box, keeps going.  Finally over 600 miles later and over 90 days, he is at her bedside. Set in England, this novel will stay with me for some time as I think about Harold and his journey.
