Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me?
by Mindy Kaling
October 30, 2012

You may recognize Mindy from the TV show, The Office.  She's one of the writers and acts on the show.  Her funny memoir had me laughing with recognition as she talks about growing up a bit of a nerd and totally in love with comedy.

Talking to the Dead
by Harry Bingham
October 26, 2012

Just read a corker of a book or as they say in the UK, thumping good read!  Fiona Griffiths is a rookie cop in Wales on her first big case.  The interesting thing about this story is her back story is as intriguing of the mystery case she is investigating.  For Tana French fans; and can't wait for the next installment from Bingham!

Books
by Larry McMurtry
October 22, 2012

Being a big book geek, I like to read books about books, libraries, bookstores, you get the picture. I just finished Books by Larry McMurtry and what a great read!  Many people know him as the author of The Lonesome Dove or Terms of Endearment, but he has been a book buyer/seller and bookstore owner his entire life.  In fact, he thinks of himself primarily as a antiquarian book guy, not a writer.

Hope you are reading our featured Teen Author Gabrielle Zevin.  This book, Memoirs of a Teenage Amnesiac, is the story of Naomi who after a nasty fall, can't remember the last four years of her life.  I've never had amnesia but can imagine it would make me reassess my life!

All These Things I've Done
by Gabrielle Zevin
October 11, 2012

So ready for another good read by Gabrielle Zevin?  Try this dystopian novel where coffee and chocolate are contraband! Yikes, not sure I could make it.

Elsewhere
by Gabrielle Zevin
October 7, 2012

So you haven't read Zevin - where to start? She has published six books and her first is an adult title and the next five are teen books. Elsewhere is a good place to start.  The book has won several awards and has a most interesting premise - Elsewhere is where you end up when you die.  What happens when you live your life in reverse??

Still Life
by Louise Penny
October 2, 2012

Penny won five mystery awards for this book, the first in a very successful series.  I somehow had not read them and being an avid mystery reader finally remedied this!  I really enjoyed it and would say this is a great read for fans of Agatha Christie.  Great characters, great writing, and good plot - if you haven't read this series yet, give it a try.
