CML recently learned that we've been rated the #1 library in the nation for 2008 by Hennen’s American Public Library Ratings (HAPLR), a national standard. The HAPLR calculates 15 individual factors in order to rate about 9,000 libraries in the United States. Two factors that make a significant impact on HAPLR are circulation and user visits, both of which continue to increase here at CML as we focus on innovation and excellent customer service.
This is the 3rd time since 1999, the first year of the HAPLR, that Columbus Metropolitan Library has been rated #1. We were rated #1 in 2005 and 1999, and we've consistently been rated in the top 4 since HAPLR’s inception. We thank the people in our community, who love libraries and make great use of our resources. It is due to the loyalty of these customers and the passionate work of our staff that we continue to see such success in Columbus.
