LIBRARY BOARD

The Columbus Metropolitan Library is under the control and management of a Board of Trustees consisting of seven members.

Four of the Board members are appointed by the County Commissioners and three by the judges of the Court of Common Pleas. Board members are appointed for a term of seven years, the term of one trustee expiring each year.

The Board of Trustees typically meets ten times per year.

The dates and locations for 2009:

Thursday, January 29 - Carnegie Room at Main Library
Tuesday, February 24 - Carnegie Room at Main Library
Tuesday, April 28 - Operation Center
Wednesday, May 20 - Whitehall Branch
Thursday, June 18 - Northern Lights Branch
Tuesday, August 25 - Martin Luther King Branch
Wednesday, September 23 - Southeast Branch
Tuesday, October 27 - Carnegie Room at Main Library
Tuesday, December 1 - Carnegie Room at Main Library

At its January meeting, the Board organizes for the ensuing year and elects a president, vice president, secretary and a clerk treasurer.
