A Discovery Place Library Card is an important tool. With your library card you will be able to:
Borrow books, audiobooks, CD's, CD-ROM's, videos and DVD's at over 21 library locations throughout Franklin county.
Gain full access to CML's premium eResources and other web services.
Renew items and check the status of your library account online.

Who is eligible?
All residents of the state of Ohio can apply for a CML library card.
What will you need?
Adults will be asked to show valid photo identification with proof of current address.
Acceptable Examples:
Photo ID:
Valid Ohio driver's license
State of Ohio ID card
Valid passport
Work ID with photo
School ID with photo
Credit card with photo
Green Card / Matricula Consular
Address verification:
Valid Ohio driver's license
State of Ohio ID card
Current month utility bill
Current year car registration
Printed mail (not handwritten) postmarked within 14 days
Printed personal check
Please note:
If a photo ID is not available, you will not receive a library card. If proof of address is not available, mailing the card will no longer be an option. With the exception of Web Patron and school visits, we will no longer mail cards. We will, however, offer to send a postcard for proof of address. When you receive the card, return to the library with a valid photo ID and the postcard. Your new library card can then be issued.
FOR CHILDREN
For children under the age of 18 to receive a library card:
The parent/guardian must present valid ID and verification of address as listed above.
The parent/guardian must have "proof of child". Acceptable verification of existence of the child includes:
Presence of child
Birth Certificate of child
Social security card of child
Current school report card of child
Green card / Matricula Consular
The parent/guardian's signature must be on the card.
Note:
The name of the child must be printed (not handwritten) by the issuing institution to be considered acceptable documentation.
APPLY IN PERSON
Visit any library location. Fill out an Application for Borrower's Card.
PLEASE NOTE:
Cards applied for online will only allow access to the library's online resources. To check out materials with your new card, please bring your card to any Columbus Metropolitan Library
location to finish the registration process.
