OUTREACH SERVICES

"To promote reading and guide learning by providing services to our at-risk population."

Our Outreach Services division brings the library into our communities through many ways:

  • Our Bookmobiles reach kids who can't always get to the library. During the school year, we visit preschools and daycare centers in at-risk areas. During the summer, our libraries on wheels stay in neighborhoods later than usual to reach as many kids as possible.
  • Our Special Needs program serves classrooms in Franklin County and provides storytimes for toddler, preschool, and school age children.
  • Our Ready to Read program promotes early literacy skills. We reach out to daycares, home daycare providers and low-income parents to provide tools and skills needed to get kids prepared for school.
  • Our Lobby Stops, Books by Mail and Homebound services are for adults unable to come to the library due to physical limitations or disabilities. Staff will gladly discuss which service best meets your needs.
