Biography: "Helma Groot is a Dutch artist living in Columbus, Ohio. In the last two years she had solo shows at Ohio Dominican University's Wehrle hall in Columbus, Ohio, the Nutting gallery at West Liberty State College in West Liberty, West Virginia and the Argyle gallery in Newark, Ohio. She shows her work at the Art Access gallery in Columbus, Ohio, the River gallery in Chelsea, Michigan, and the Ward gallery in Harbor Springs, Michigan. Helma recently finished a large outdoor commission for the American Cancer Society and built a large mobile for Toledo Children's Hospital in December '07. She was featured on HGTV 's 'That's Clever'. She graduated from the Columbus College of Art and Design in 1989, and studied furniture making in Amsterdam, the Netherlands."
