Central Ohio Folk Festival

Sponsored by the Columbus Folk Music Society, this festival is always held on the first full weekend of May and is held at the Battelle-Darby Creek Metro Park. The festival features 30 or more mini-concerts and teaching workshops, with a main-stage concert Saturday evening. The  workshops are for various traditional instruments, music and other folk arts.

Terrapin Puppet Theatre has entertained Tasmanian, Australian and international audiences for 30 years. Boats is a moving story, which ultimately tells the story and adventures of Nic and Jof. The play is enacted with puppets, acrobatics and sound effects created on stage with two microphones, one of which goes in water. Boats utilizes physical theatre, object manipulation, story telling, and wonderful puppetry that has made Terrapin famous locally, nationally and internationally.

Columbus Guitar Society: Duo46 Plays Masterworks for Violin & Guitar

Duo46 is an international ensemble founded by guitarist Matt Gould and violinist Beth Ilana Schneider-Gould and now based in Canada. Their repertoire includes more than 400 works! Specializing in contemporary music, they have commissioned over 100 duets, trios, and double concertos with orchestra and also perform Baroque, Classical, Romantic, and 20th-Century works. They have worked with composers around the world: Jorge Liderman from Argentina, Stephen Goss from England, Dan Asia and Paul Richards from the USA, and many, many more. The duo has released 11 excellent recordings and will bring their exciting, personal breed of virtuosity to Columbus.

Capital City Half Marathon

The 10th Annual Capital City Half Marathon Presented by Key Bank will feature four races in 2013: the Capital City Half Marathon (13.1 miles); the Patron Quarter Marathon (6.55 miles); the Commit To Be Fit Fun Run (approximately 3.3 miles) and the Capital Kids Mascot Chase. The course begins at the Scioto Mile park in downtown Columbus and guides runners through popular Columbus neighborhoods before finishing in the Columbus Commons.

The Ohio Village Muffins are a group of enthusiastic lovers of the game who carry on the tradition of the sport as it was played in mid-nineteenth-century America. The first thing we tell people new to "vintage" base ball is that, historically, "base ball" was two words. This is an important because we like to do everything as the base ball players of 1860 did it: We play by their rules, dress in their uniforms, and exemplify their gentlemanly behavior. Games are played against other vintage teams from Ohio and across the country.
