Thom Bresh is a National Thumbpickers Hall of Fame inductee,2001. He's had a lengthy career in music, at one point hosting his own weekly television variety show Nashville Swing. Thom has performed with Bob Hope, Chet Atkins, Gordon Lightfoot, and too many others to list. Finger-picking in the style made famous by Merle Travis, he brings the Travis legacy to new audiences.

The annual Spring Soiree Concert is ProMusica's signature fundraising event, and features a pre-concert party at the Westin Hotel, with fine food and drink, live entertainment and the chance to win exclusive prizes. This festive party is followed by a performance at the adjacent Southern Theatre. This year's event will feature ProMusica Chamber Orchestra performing with renowned bluegrass legend and 14-time Grammy winner Ricky Skaggs and Kentucky Thunder. Mandolin virtuoso Ricky Skaggs has elevated bluegrass and American roots music into the mainstream throughout a successful 50-year career, and we are thrilled to present him in central Ohio for this one-night-only performance!

The MOMologues

The MOMologues is POEM's signature fundraising event, designed to raise awareness for POEM's core mission while also giving attendees an evening to come together in community to laugh about motherhood. A full 100% of the event proceeds benefit POEM, which provides peer support to enhance medical and psychological care for moms with pregnancy and postpartum depression (PPD). POEM provides a multitude of free services including mom-to-mom support groups, a telephone support line, a Mentor Mom program, workshops for providers and healthcare provider referrals.

In celebration of the new Columbus Museum of Art expansion, the Museum and the Columbus Historical Society present a conversation about building the Columbus Museum of Art. Architects Michael Bongiorno and Bob Loversidge will join CMA Executive Director Nannette V. Maciejunes to discuss the ins and outs and ups and downs of building the Columbus Museum of Art. Michael Bongiorno is the lead architect on the Design Group team that designed the new wing and the reconfiguration of the 1970s building. Bob Loversidge is the principal of Schooley Caldwell, the firm that designed and shepherded the renovation of our 1930s Beaux Arts building and Beaton Hall.

In conjunction with the Ohioana Book Festival, the MAC will host a meet & greet and book reading with Ohio author Carla Buckley. Carla Buckley was born in Washington, D.C. She has worked as an assistant press secretary for a U.S. senator, an analyst with the Smithsonian Institution, and a technical writer for a defense contractor. She lives in Columbus, Ohio, with her husband, an environmental scientist, and their three children. She is the author of Invisible (Ohioana Book Festival) and The Things That Keep Us Here, which was nominated for a Thriller Award as a Best First novel and the Ohioana Book Award for fiction. Carla serves on the Board of the International Thriller Writers as Vice President of Awards, and is currently at work on her next novel, which Bantam will publish.

Columbus Clippers vs. Charlotte Knights
